Lake Glendale Recreation
Area
Located just off Highway 145, south of Glendale,
Illinois, Lake Glendale is the perfect choice for recreational activities. With
over 80 acres of clearwater lake, there is a wide range of activities for your
enjoyment. Whether your interests include swimming, fishing, hiking, mountain
biking or camping, Lake Glendale offers it all!
Our swimming area offers such amenities as a large sandy beach as well as
a concession stand. If you like, take a ride on one of our paddle boats that are
available for rent. Showers and toilet facilities are provided for your
convenience.
Enjoy the beautiful scenery surrounding the lake by hiking
or biking on one of our many trails.
Relax with your family and friends in one of our scenic picnic areas.

For the fisherman, we offer fishing boat rentals, or if you prefer, use
our boat ramp to launch your own fishing boat.
If camping is your interest, we have a 60 site campground, of which 30
are electrically equipped. Modern restrooms, showers
and a playground are available.
Centrally located in the
Shawnee National Forest,
Oak Point campground at Lake Glendale Recreation Area is an ideal base camp from
which to experience the wonders of beautiful, historic
southern Illinois. Within
a few minutes drive, visitors can explore the
Trail of Tears, the Ohio
River Scenic By-way, Dixon Springs State Park, and numerous other memorable
sights. Don't forget to visit the
Chocolate Factory for your choice of delicious ice cream or select from a
mouth-watering variety of hand-made chocolate treats.
